Easter

We took advantage of the nice weather on Sunday and went for a walk. Zeke loves every opportunity to get out of the house so he was hyper. He ran from one interesting thing to another. After all, there were dogs, sticks, streams, rocks, bugs and everything else to see.
Zeke's interest in everything made it hard for us to get any place very quickly. When we decided it was time to come home we had to carry Zeke in order to get him to come.

Then Zeke had his very first Easter Egg hunt. At first I don't think he knew what to do, but once we showed him that he should put the eggs in his basket he was ready to go. It was impossible to get a good picture because he was too fast and ran from place to place.

Personality

I absolutely love Zeke's personality. He loves books and whenever I'm in the kitchen, he likes to bring a book, sit on the floor and read while I cooking or doing dishes. His current obsession, however, is this advertisement we got in the mail about DVDs. He spends forever looking at it. He stares at it super intensely like he can actually read it.
Another one of Zeke's cute quirks is his eye for bugs. If he sees he tiniest movement, he will lay flat on his stomach to observe the little creature. He puts out his finger like he is touching it, but rarely gets the nerve to do so. When by some chance the bug actually crawls onto him, he freaks out and starts shaking his hand around.

If you look really really close, you can see a tiny black speck. How in the world does he see them?

Birthdays!!!

Toby and I both had our birthdays these last couple of weeks. I can't believe we are 26! We are over the half way point in our 20's. Sometimes it's hard to believe that I am married with a kid. Time sure is a funny thing.
Zeke was a major contributor when it came to opening presents. He especially liked the Lacrosse sticks that Toby got for him and Zeke to play with.

As you can see, he also really enjoyed helping blow out the birthday candles. I think we re-lit them a couple times so he could do it again.

See that beautiful sewing machine in the background? Yeah, that's my birthday present. Isn't it a beauty?

Little Wild Horse Canyon

Toby and Daniel decided to try another camping trip in Southern Utah. This one, thankfully, did not have any near death experiences except for almost freezing to death in the night. They went to Little Wild Horse Canyon to hike.
Toby hiking in the canyon. From what they told me, it was a pretty relaxed hike, but still fun.

Nature vs. Nurture

Sometimes when I walk in the kitchen to see what Zeke is up to; this is what I find. I like to think that it's a product of him watching me, but I'm not so sure. He also likes to grab the mop and pretend to mop the floor pretty much daily. Hopefully this is something that sticks.

I'm alive... really

Okay, it's been forever since I last added to my blog. I have no excuse! I wish I could say that I've been really busy doing wonderful things, but I haven't. I'll try to post a few things that we've been up to lately to catch back up and then hopefully we won't have another dry spell like this last one.
