Trent saves the day

When you drive your husband to work... it just worked out that way today.... do you get dressed and ready?

No! You hop in the car in your pajamas with your slippers on. You Throw the kids in the back seat with their blankets and get on your way.

After dropping Toby off I hopped into the driver's seat and headed home.

I was minding my own business when I exited the freeway and pulled up to the stoplight. Suddenly there was a knock on my window!

Yes it scared me half to death.

There was man there so I tentatively rolled me window down.

"You have a really flat tire on your car, did you know that?"

Seriously?!!! That's when the light turned green. I went through the intersection and pulled off the road at the first chance I got. I examined the tires on my car by leaning out the door and sure enough... I had a flat.

So, I did what every self respecting person in her pajamas and slippers would do! I called my brother! I am so lucky to have a brother that lives close by. He came to the rescue right away and I was on my way in no time.

Don't worry... I drove home and got ready for the day before taking the car to get fixed.

A tantrum for you

When a 2 year old does something he's not supposed to and you take the object that he was doing something wrong with away a tantrum will ensue.

When you go lock yourself in the bathroom to take a shower and get away from said tantrum you may not be as safe as you think.

If you're 2 year old is anything like mine, he will probably get something long, in this case a hockey stick, to knock the keys off of their hook.

He will then come and unlock the bathroom door so that he can throw a tantrum for you while you take a shower.

I'm trying really hard to think of this as funny so I don't lose my patience too early in the morning.

Remember Today

Dear Mom,

Help me remember today. It was such a fun day.

I loved going to the farm and petting the animals. Thanks for letting me buy some food to feed the ducks and chickens.

Did you see me ride that big horse? I wasn't even scared. I'm glad it wasn't as big as the horses that pulled us on our trolley ride. Those were BIG!

My favorite part of the day was going to the park after my nap. It was really fun throwing rocks in the water and playing on the playground.

Wasn't it so fun when it started to rain and we hid in the tower of the playground? I'm glad you taught me how to karate chop and kick those dragons that were trying to climb up the tower and get us. That was funny.

Thanks for not getting mad when I splashed in every puddle on the way back to the car.

Don't let me forget this fun day.

Love,
Zeke

Don't worry, Zeke. I'll never forget.

Growing Up

I officially began potty training Zeke yesterday. He wished I had started months ago. I'm glad I waited. He made it all day without ever going in his pants. I'm pretty sure he went to the bathroom 45 times yesterday.

Here's to hoping we keep being as successful.

Trip to Oregon

Daniel got married last week. I don't have any pictures of the actual wedding day (lame I know) but I got lots of pictures of some of the other activities we did. The weather was beautiful and we spent as much time as possible outside. Zeke absolutely loved having a place to play outside and cousins to play with all day long.

Wheeler Farm

We went on an outing to Wheeler Farm last week. Zeke was in Heaven!! He ran from one animal to the next. I could barely keep up with him. I wish I had a picture of him feeding the ducks because that was a highlight. Unfortunately, my hands were too busy passing out bread to pull the camera out. After that he chased every duck he saw and tried to chase off a few geese. Luckily the geese didn't bite his face off because they certainly tried. (scary!!) Here area few pictures of the day.

Around the House

Despite the fact that I've completely neglected my blog for the past month, we have been having fun around here. Zeke is turning into quite a little boy. This is the face he made when we asked him to make a funny face. (Notice the awesome octopus shirt... yeah Toby is totally jealous)

He also is OBSESSED with books. He loves to be read to or just sit and look at the pictures. He won't take a nap unless he gets to take a book with him to bed.

Porter is getting big too. He is happiest when he's out and about doing things or when his big brother is giving him attention (without grabbing his face).

We have especially enjoyed the weather starting to warm up a bit. My boys would live outside if I let them. Zeke loves to go outside and then run over to Blake's window to see if he will come out to.
